Sexual Health Case 2 - Rory

Part two in this series from the RACP, Chapter of Sexual Health focusses on sexual history taking and pre and post-test discussion.

Chlamydia is disturbingly common in the Australian population and appropriate sexual history taking and contact tracing are important skills to employ in an attempt to lesson the prevalence and impact of this disease.

  • Take a sexual history eliciting the relevant risk factors and behaviours
  • Recall the relevant questions required for a full sexual history
  • Discuss how to tailor pre and post-test discussion, for STIs, for patients with different levels of clinical risk
  • Use a system to take an appropriate and thorough sexual history
  • Indicate which tests are most appropriate after full sexual history and examination
